§ 4501.06. State highway safety fund.
 

The taxes, fees, and fines levied, charged, or referred to in division (C)(1) of section 4503.10, division (D) of section 4503.182 [4503.18.2], division (A) of section 4508.06, and sections 4505.11, 4505.111 [4505.11.1], 4506.08, 4506.09, 4507.23, 4508.05, 4923.12, and 5502.12 of the Revised Code, unless otherwise designated by law, shall be deposited in the state treasury to the credit of the state highway safety fund, which is hereby created, and shall, after receipt of certifications from the commissioners of the sinking fund certifying, as required by sections 5528.15 and 5528.35 of the Revised Code, that there are sufficient moneys to the credit of the highway improvement bond retirement fund created by section 5528.12 of the Revised Code to meet in full all payments of interest, principal, and charges for the retirement of bonds and other obligations issued pursuant to Section 2g of Article VIII, Ohio Constitution, and sections 5528.10 and 5528.11 of the Revised Code due and payable during the current calendar year, and that there are sufficient moneys to the credit of the highway obligations bond retirement fund created by section 5528.32 of the Revised Code to meet in full all payments of interest, principal, and charges for the retirement of highway obligations issued pursuant to Section 2i of Article VIII, Ohio Constitution, and sections 5528.30 and 5528.31 of the Revised Code due and payable during the current calendar year, be used for the purpose of enforcing and paying the expenses of administering the law relative to the registration and operation of motor vehicles on the public roads or highways. Amounts credited to the fund may also be used to pay the expenses of administering and enforcing the laws under which such fees were collected. All investment earnings of the state highway safety fund shall be credited to the fund.
