2006 New York Code - Temporary Registration.
§ 2255. Temporary registration. A temporary registration may be issued by a dealer registered in accordance with the provisions of this article to the purchaser of a vessel sold by the dealer provided the dealer makes application on behalf of the owner for a registration under section twenty-two hundred fifty-one of this article no later than five calendar days after the issuance of the temporary registration. Such temporary registration shall be valid, if issued and used in accordance with regulations promulgated by the commissioner, for the operation of the vessel for which it is issued for thirty days after the date of issuance. Such temporary registration may be extended by the commissioner for an additional thirty days. The commissioner shall provide registered boat dealers with documents and forms to be used in the issuance of such temporary registrations.
