2006 New York Code - Office Of Real Property Services; Executive Director.



 
    §  201.  Office of real property services; executive director.  1. The
  office of real property services is hereby established in the  executive
  department.  The  head  of the office shall be an executive director who
  shall also be the executive officer for and secretary of the state board
  of real property services.  The position of executive director shall  be
  in   the   competitive   class  of  the  classified  civil  service  and
  appointments to the office of executive director shall be  made  by  the
  state  board  of real property services. The executive director, as head
  of the office of real property services, shall effectuate  the  policies
  of the board in accordance with principles and procedures established by
  it.  The  executive director also shall exercise, in accordance with the
  policies, principles and rules of  the  board,  such  other  powers  and
  duties as may be delegated to him from time to time by the board.
    2.  The  executive  director  of  the office of real property services
  shall be the appointing officer of such office. All appointments made by
  him, including the appointment of consultants, shall be subject  to  the
  approval of the chairman of the board. The executive director may employ
  such  officers,  employees  and  consultants  as  shall  be necessary to
  exercise and perform the functions, powers and duties  assigned  to  the
  office  of  real  property  services and shall have the power to fix the
  compensation of such officers,  employees  and  consultants  within  the
  amounts  made  available  by  appropriation  therefor,  subject  to  the
  provisions of the civil service law and the rules and regulations of the
  civil service commission.
    3. The office of real  property  services  shall  annually  prepare  a
  budget request which, after approval of the state board of real property
  services, shall be submitted to the director of the budget.
