2006 New York Code - Illuminating Oils.



 
    §  27-4059 Illuminating oils. a. Permit. It shall be unlawful to store
  and sell kerosene or other illuminating oils without a permit  from  the
  commissioner;  but  no  permit  shall  be  required  where  the quantity
  transported or used does not exceed ten gallons.
    b. Empty barrels. All barrels, cans and  other  containers  of  liquid
  products  of  petroleum, coal tar or shale oil shall be removed from all
  premises, other than storage  plants,  within  twenty-four  hours  after
  being emptied.
    c.  Test.  It shall be unlawful to sell or offer for sale any kerosene
  or other illuminating oil  which  will  emit  a  flammable  vapor  at  a
  temperature  lower than one hundred degrees Fahrenheit, when tested in a
  Tagliabue open cup tester.
