§ 27-137 Alternate or equivalent equipment. Whenever the code prescribes the use of particular equipment, the commissioner may permit the use of any equipment shown to be equivalent for the use intended, in terms of health, fire and/or structural safety. Nothing contained in this code shall be construed to require the use of any particular equipment for the purpose of meeting performance requirements of this code.
