2006 New York Code - Exemptions.



 
    § 26-184 Exemptions. The provisions of this subchapter shall not apply
  (a) to signs not exceeding seventy-five square feet in area, measured on
  one  side  only,  nor  exceeding twenty-five pounds in weight; or (b) to
  signs supported directly on the ground; or (c) to directional signs;  or
  (d)  to temporary signs erected during the construction or alteration of
  a building and related to such work; or (e) to the erection  or  placing
  of  any  signs  by  employees  of the city, any city department or other
  governmental agency.
