2006 New York Code - Credit For Service Of Certain Members.



 
    §  13-116  Credit  for service of certain members. Notwithstanding any
  provisions of section 13-107 of this chapter to the contrary, any member
  of the New York city employees' retirement system, who upon abolition of
  his or her  position  receives  employment  and  compensation  from  the
  government of the United States in connection with construction projects
  of  the  city  of New York financed by loans and grants allocated to the
  municipality, and, who subsequently receives re-employment with the city
  of New York and has restored his or her membership in the New York  city
  employees'  retirement  system,  shall  be allowed to contribute to such
  retirement or pension system the amount he or she would have contributed
  had such service been city service, and upon making  such  contribution,
  such  time  and  compensation  shall  be credited as though it were city
  service, providing the member has  had  at  least  five  years  of  city
  employment both prior and subsequent to federal employment.
