    * § 341. Construction, improvement and designation of highways.
    27.  1  Rush-Mendon,  part  one; Henrietta station, South Arab street;
  Riga-Buckbee Corners; Humphrey Corner-Fowler Corner, County  line  road;
  from  state  highway  five  thousand  four  hundred  thirty-five through
  Cartersville  to  Bushnell  Basin;  Bushnell  Basin-Victor,  part   one;
  Lima-Sibleyville,  part  two;  Bergen-Riga,  part  two; from highway one
  thousand  two  hundred  ninety  southerly  to  the   proposed   Bushnell
  Basin-Victor,  part  one,  highway;  from  highway  eighty-one  easterly
  through Hilton to highway one  thousand  two  hundred  eighty-one;  from
  highway  seventy-nine  to  Pittsford; Fairport-Macedon Center, part one;
  Kendall  Mills-Hamlin  Center;  Honeoye  Falls  village,   Main   street
  connection;  Honeoye Falls, Monroe street; Ballantyne Bridge westerly to
  an  intersection  with  state  highway   five   thousand   two   hundred
  seventy-nine;  from  a point on state highway eight thousand two hundred
  twenty-three at or near Bushnell Basin, northwesterly to  state  highway
  sixty,  together  with  any  necessary  connections,  thence  continuing
  northwesterly between state highways sixty and five  and  the  New  York
  Central  R.R. (main line) to a point on the easterly Rochester city line
  north of East avenue, to be determined by the  commissioner.  The  total
  cost  of  highway-railroad  separations necessary in the construction of
  the last above described highway, where no crossings now exist,  may  be
  borne  by  the  state  and  be paid for from any state or federal moneys
  available for the construction  or  reconstruction  of  state  highways;
  Winton road-Sea Breeze, from a point on state highway one thousand three
  hundred twenty-eight to be determined by the commissioner northerly to a
  point  on  state highway five hundred thirty-eight near its intersection
  with state highway five hundred seventy-three; from  a  point  on  state
  highway  five hundred thirty-eight at or near the intersection of Culver
  road and Ridge road, easterly to the  Winton  road-Sea  Breeze  highway,
  northeasterly  across  Irondequoit  Bay  and  easterly  to  the westerly
  terminus of state highway FASH 46-1 at the westerly Wayne  county  line,
  as determined by the commissioner, said highway to be built with control
  of  access,  including  a  connection  on or in the vicinity of Bay road
  county road, running  southeasterly  to  state  highway  ninety-nine  as
  determined  by  the  commissioner;  from  a  point on Winton road, state
  highway one thousand three hundred twenty-eight, to be determined by the
  commissioner, thence southerly to a point  on  the  northerly  Rochester
  city line east of Winton road to be determined by the commissioner; from
  a  point  to  be  determined by the commissioner, approximately 0.8 mile
  east of Culver road, south  of  Brower  road,  thence  westerly  on  new
  location,  crossing  Culver road and continuing westerly on new location
  to a point on the easterly Rochester city line to be determined  by  the
  commissioner, in the vicinity of Keeler street extended; from a point to
  be  determined by the commissioner, east of state highway five and south
  of Linden avenue, thence westerly crossing state highway  five,  in  the
  vicinity  of  Elmwood  avenue,  and  continuing  westerly  on  or in the
  vicinity  of  Elmwood  avenue,  crossing  state  highway  four   hundred
  seventy-four,  to  a  connection  with  a  proposed state highway in the
  vicinity of the abandoned Rochester subway and  Elmwood  avenue;  Howard
  road  from  state  highway  two  hundred fifty-four to state highway two
  hundred fifty-three; Nichols street  from  state  highway  four  hundred
  ninety-five  to  state  highway  five thousand five hundred twenty-nine;
  Parma Center road, from state highway two hundred  sixty-nine  to  state
  highway  one  thousand  two  hundred  eighty-one; Washington street from
  state highway one thousand two hundred  thirty-seven  to  state  highway
  four hundred eighty-one; from a point in the easterly thruway connection
  north  of  state  highway  sixty  to  be determined by the commissioner,
  thence easterly to a point on the westerly boundary of  the  village  of
  East  Rochester  on  or  in  the  vicinity  of Commercial street, thence
  easterly on or in the vicinity of Commercial street to  an  intersection
  with state highway one thousand three hundred thirty-seven; from a point
  on   the   easterly  Rochester  city  line,  to  be  determined  by  the
  commissioner,  north  of   Atlantic   avenue,   thence   southerly   and
  southwesterly  on  or  in the vicinity of Clover street boulevard to the
  vicinity of the  intersection  of  Dorchester  road  and  Clover  street
  boulevard,  continuing  on  new  location crossing Blossom road, the New
  York Central R.R., the easterly thruway connection to  a  point  on  the
  easterly city line to be determined by the commissioner; from a point on
  the  southerly city line in the vicinity of the Rochester subway, thence
  southerly along or in the vicinity of the right of way of the  Rochester
  subway,  crossing  Monroe  avenue  between  Clover  street  and Edgewood
  avenue, thence southwesterly and westerly, to the Barge Canal at a point
  to be determined by the  commissioner,  east  of  East  Henrietta  road,
  thence  northwesterly  along  or  in  the  vicinity  of  the Barge Canal
  crossing the Genesee river  to  a  point  on  Scottsville  road,  to  be
  determined   by  the  commissioner,  continuing  from  Scottsville  road
  northwesterly on new location crossing portions of the  Rochester-Monroe
  county  airport  and continuing northwesterly to a point on the westerly
  Rochester city  line  north  of  Chili  avenue,  as  determined  by  the
  commissioner. The cost of constructing and maintaining those portions of
  the  last  described highway within the confines of the Rochester-Monroe
  county airport or the city of Rochester shall be borne by the state  and
  be  paid  for  from  any  state  or  federal  moneys  available  for the
  construction or reconstruction of state highways.  Lands  and  easements
  required  for  the  construction of those portions of the last described
  highway within the confines of the Rochester-Monroe  county  airport  or
  the  city  of Rochester shall be acquired in the same manner as provided
  by law for the securing of lands and easements for the remainder of said
  highway outside the city limits.
    1.1 From a point on state highway eighty-three, as determined  by  the
  commissioner,  thence  generally  northerly  crossing state highways two
  hundred fifty-three, six and three hundred ninety-nine to  a  connection
  with  the  Lake  Ontario state parkway in the vicinity of Island Cottage
  road; beginning at a point west of the B & O Railroad underpass on state
  highway  four  hundred  one  (Brooks  avenue),  as  determined  by   the
  commissioner,  thence southwesterly and northwesterly on new location to
  a connection with interstate route connection 580  in  the  vicinity  of
  Trabold  road, as detemined by the commissioner; beginning at a point on
  state highway eighty-three at  its  intersection  with  Elmgrove  county
  road,  thence  northerly  along Elmgrove county road to its intersection
  with state highway five thousand five hundred twenty-nine; beginning  at
  a  point  to  be  determined  by the commissioner on the Rochester Outer
  Loop, between Clinton avenue south and the Genesee river,  thence  in  a
  generally  southerly  direction  on  new location, crossing the New York
  thruway  near  West  Henrietta  interchange,  continuing  southerly  and
  southwesterly  to  state highway six hundred forty-eight in the vicinity
  of  state  highway  one  thousand  three  hundred   ninety-three-A,   as
  determined by the commissioner, said highway to be built with control of
  access.
    1.2  Beginning  at a point to be determined by the commissioner on the
  southerly Rochester city line in the general vicinity of Clinton  avenue
  south,  thence in a generally southerly direction on new location to the
  Rochester Outer Loop, as determined by the commissioner.
    1.3 Beginning at a point on state highway five thousand forty-six,  as
  determined  by  the  commissioner,  in  the  vicinity of Garbutt, thence
  generally northerly to state highway one thousand two hundred thirty-six
  in the vicinity of Buckbee corner, as determined by the commissioner.
    1.4  Beginning  at  a point on state highway two hundred fifty-two, as
  determined by the commissioner, thence generally northerly to a point in
  the vicinity of West Greece, thence continuing easterly to the  westerly
  Rochester  city  line in the vicinity of Stonewood avenue, as determined
  by the commissioner, said highway to be built with control of access.
    (4.) Upon the completion and acceptance of  the  construction  of  any
  portion  of the state highway described as from a point on state highway
  eighty-three,  as  determined  by  the  commissioner,  thence  generally
  northerly  crossing  state  highways  two  hundred fifty-three, six, and
  three hundred ninety-nine, to a connection with the Lake  Ontario  state
  parkway  in  the  vicinity  of  Island Cottage road, the commissioner is
  hereby authorized and directed to enter an official order of abandonment
  to the county of Monroe  that  portion  of  state  highway  two  hundred
  seventy-six  from  its  intersection  with  state  highway three hundred
  ninety-nine southerly to the northerly  Rochester  city  line  at  Dewey
  avenue,  and  upon the filing of certified copies of such official order
  with the county clerk, the county treasurer, the  clerk  of  the  county
  legislative body, the county superintendent of highways of Monroe county
  and  the  state  comptroller,  the  state  shall  cease to maintain that
  portion of state highway two hundred seventy-six from  its  intersection
  with  state highway three hundred ninety-nine southerly to the northerly
  Rochester city line at Dewey avenue and all rights  and  obligations  of
  the  state therein shall be turned over and surrendered to the county of
  Monroe and such highway shall hereafter be maintained as a part  of  the
  county road system of said county.
    15.  Upon  the opening to traffic of the new bridge across Irondequoit
  bay and upon the letting of a contract by the  United  States  corps  of
  Army  engineers,  for  the  project  to  open  Irondequoit bay into Lake
  Ontario at a point to be determined across state  highway  five  hundred
  thirty-eight  and/or  state  highway  five  hundred  seventy-three,  the
  commissioner is authorized and directed to enter an  official  order  of
  discontinuance  for  highway  purposes  of  that  portion  of  the above
  mentioned state highway or highways which will  comprise  such  opening.
  The commissioner shall file certified copies of such official order with
  the  county  clerk,  the  county  treasurer,  the  clerk  of  the county
  legislative body, the county superintendent of highways, all  of  Monroe
  county  and  the  state  comptroller.  Upon  completion  of such project
  opening and in the  event  the  project  opening  does  not  occupy  the
  existing   channel  at  the  junction  of  state  highway  five  hundred
  thirty-eight  and  state  highway   five   hundred   seventy-three   the
  commissioner  is  authorized  to  remove  the  bridge  over the existing
  channel and fill such channel under such  bridge  in  order  to  provide
  highway  access  to  the  project opening to persons along the remaining
  state highway. In the event the present  channel  is  utilized  for  the
  project  opening  the commissioner is authorized to remove or permit the
  removal of the existing structure over such channel. The expense of  any
  state  work  shall  be  a  proper charge against funds available for the
  construction, reconstruction, or maintenance of state highways.
    29.  (Opening  two  paragraphs  amended  by   chapter   five   hundred
  ninety-eight of nineteen hundred sixty-eight).
    Syosset-Cold  Spring  Harbor,  part two; New York city line to Suffolk
  county line through the southerly portion of Nassau county on a route to
  be determined by the commissioner  of  transportation;  Hillside  avenue
  extended  to  Jericho  turnpike  near  East  Williston;  Union  turnpike
  extended to Hillside avenue about two miles east of the  New  York  city
  line; from New York city line along Hempstead avenue extended to Suffolk
  county  line;  North  Hempstead  turnpike,  city  line to county highway
  number eight hundred and ninety-eight;  Jericho  turnpike,  Floral  Park
  village  to Jericho; Massapequa road, Glen Cove city line to Massapequa;
  Middle  Neck  road  from North Hempstead turnpike at car barns to county
  highway number thirteen hundred and forty-two; Jericho-Oyster Bay;  from
  North   Hempstead   turnpike   Greenvale   to   Glen   Cove  city  line;
  Seaford-Oyster Bay expressway Sunrise highway extension from Carman Mill
  road northeasterly to county line; Farmingdale-Maywood;  Horace  Harding
  expressway extension from New York city line to vicinity of Guinea Woods
  road;  Long  Island  expressway  from  Guinea  Woods road to the Suffolk
  county line in the vicinity of Melville; Carman Hill; Jericho  turnpike,
  Queens  Village-Floral  Park,  Nassau  expressway from the New York city
  line to Atlantic Beach bridge; Long Beach expressway from Atlantic Beach
  bridge to Park Avenue at the Long Beach westerly city line;  Long  Beach
  expressway  from Park Avenue at the Long Beach easterly city line to the
  Loop parkway at Lido boulevard.
    Upon completion and acceptance of  the  aforementioned  Seaford-Oyster
  Bay  expressway, the commissioner of transportation is hereby authorized
  and directed to enter an official order of abandonment to the county  of
  Nassau  of  such  portions  of  state highway one thousand seven hundred
  ninety-eight, FAS SH fifty-one dash eight  and  FAS  SH  forty-two  dash
  three as shall not be used in the construction of said highway, and upon
  the  filing  of  certified copies of such official order with the county
  clerk, the county treasurer, the clerk of the board of supervisors,  the
  county commissioner of public works, all of Nassau county, and the state
  comptroller,  the  highways  described  in such official order, together
  with all the rights and obligations  of  the  state  therein,  shall  be
  turned  over  and  surrendered to the county of Nassau, to be maintained
  thereafter by that county.
    49. (Paragraph one amended by chapter five hundred  sixty-one  of  the
  laws of nineteen hundred sixty-eight).
    1.        East        Moriches-Westhampton;        Westhampton-Quoque;
  Southhampton-Bridgehampton;               Riverhead-Mattituch-Greenport;
  Huntington-Fort  Salonge;  Smithtown  Branch-Coram; Coram-Middle Island,
  east;  Syosset-Cold  Springs  Harbor;  part  three;  Amityville  village
  connection;  Wading  River-Centerville;  Sunrise  highway extension from
  county  line   easterly   to   Montauk   highway   near   Great   River;
  Maywood-Babylon; from a point on Montauk highway to be determined by the
  commissioner,  northerly  to  Deer  Park  avenue near the Southern state
  parkway, following along or near Deer Park avenue and on new location to
  state highway five thousand one hundred eleven; from a  point  on  state
  highway five thousand three hundred one in the vicinity of Islip avenue,
  thence  generally  northerly on or along Islip avenue, and northeasterly
  on or along Joshua's path to a point  on  the  Long  Island  expressway;
  Amagansett-Montauk   Point;   Centerville-Mattituck;   Greenport-Orient;
  Riverhead-Hampton bays; Long Island expressway from  the  Nassau  county
  line in the vicinity of Melville to the vicinity of Aquebogue, including
  a  spur  from  the  vicinity of Manorville southeasterly to a connection
  with  the  proposed  Sunrise  highway  extension  in  the  vicinity   of
  Westhampton;  Wildwood  park  to  the  proposed Wading River-Centerville
  highway; East Patchoque-Brookhaven by way of Robinson boulevard;  Nassau
  county  line-Huntington  by  way  of  Lawrence  avenue;  Sunrise highway
  extension, from a point near the easterly end  of  state  highway  eight
  thousand  four  hundred  sixty  in  an  easterly direction, north of and
  generally parallel to the Montauk highway, to a point on  state  highway
  nine thousand three hundred five, as determined by the commissioner. The
  total  cost  of  highway-railroad  separations,  where  none  now exist,
  necessary in the construction of the above  described  "Sunrise  highway
  extension  from  a  point  near  the easterly end of state highway eight
  thousand four hundred sixty in  an  easterly  direction,  north  of  and
  generally  parallel  to the Montauk highway, to a point of state highway
  nine  thousand  three  hundred five", shall be borne by the state and be
  paid for from any state or federal moneys available for the construction
  and reconstruction of state highways; from a point on  the  Long  Island
  expressway,   in   the   vicinity   of  Calebs  path,  thence  generally
  northeasterly to the  Veterans  Memorial  highway,  at  a  point  to  be
  determined  by  the  commissioner; from a point on the Veterans Memorial
  highway  in  the  vicinity  of  Hauppauge,  to  be  determined  by   the
  commissioner,  thence  generally  northeasterly on or in the vicinity of
  county road eighty-five and county road  eighty  to  a  point  on  state
  highway  eight  thousand ninety-four, said highway may be built with the
  control of access as determined by the commissioner.
