    §  142. Authority to visit school or institution. Judges of the family
  court may officially visit any school or institution to which any person
  within the jurisdiction of the court of which he is an  officer  may  be
  remanded  or committed, and the authorities responsible for paying their
  respective salaries are authorized and required to approve and  pay  the
  necessary  traveling  expenses  incurred  by  such judges in making such
  visits.
