CHAPTER 548 — REGISTERS OF PROBATE
Section 548:1 Residence, etc.

The register of probate shall dwell in the county in which the probate records are required to be kept, and shall be present at the probate office on all days when that office shall be required to be kept open or, in lieu of such presence, shall employ a competent clerk who shall dwell in said county and shall be present in the place of the register. If a register shall dwell in any other county and continue so dwelling for 30 consecutive days, the office shall be deemed vacant.
