§ 3-5A-10 - License or registration expiration and renewal.


MD Health Occ Code § 3-5A-10 (2013) What's This?

(a) In general. --

(1) A license or registration expires on the date set by the Board, unless the license or registration is renewed for a 1-year term as provided in this section.

(2) A license or registration may not be renewed for a term of longer than 2 years.

(b) Renewal notice. -- At least 1 month before the license or registration expires, the Board shall send to the licensee or registration holder, by electronic means or first-class mail to the last known electronic or physical address of the licensee or registration holder, a renewal notice that states:

(1) The date on which the current license or registration expires;

(2) The date by which the renewal application must be received by the Board for the renewal to be issued and mailed before the license or registration expires; and

(3) The amount of the renewal fee.

(c) Renewal. -- Before a license or registration expires, the licensee or registration holder periodically may renew it for an additional term, if the licensee or registration holder:

(1) Otherwise is entitled to be licensed or registered;

(2) Submits to the Board a renewal application on the form that the Board requires; and

(3) Pays to the Board a renewal fee set by the Board.

(d) Name or address change; penalty. --

(1) Each licensee or registration holder shall notify the Board in writing of any change in the name or address of the licensee or registration holder within 60 days after the change occurred.

(2) If a licensee or registration holder fails to notify the Board within the time required under this subsection, subject to the hearing provisions of § 3-315 of this title, the Board may impose an administrative penalty of $ 100.

(e) Issuance of renewal. -- The Board shall renew the license of each licensee and the registration of each registration holder who meets the requirements of this section.
