§ 10-912.

      (a)      Each professional and paraprofessional member of the program staff shall:

            (1)      As appropriate to their disciplines, have special training in the psychosocial aspects of deafness and therapeutic work with hearing impaired individuals in mental health and related settings; and

            (2)      Be fluent in receptive and expressive manual communication, including the American Sign Language, or, within 1 year after employment, be fluent at a level acceptable to the Director.

      (b)      The professional staff of the program shall have experience in:

            (1)      Techniques of assessment of hearing impaired individuals; and

            (2)      Individual and group psychotherapy with hearing impaired individuals.
