2005 Maine Code - §402 — Aid required by officer; refusal

      1. Officer may require aid. Any law enforcement officer may require suitable aid in the execution of official duties in criminal and traffic infraction cases for the following reasons:

B. For apprehending or securing any person for the breach of the peace or in case of the escape or rescue of persons arrested on civil process. [1987, c. 737, Pt. A, §2 (new); Pt.       2. Violation and penalty. Any person required to aid a law enforcement officer under this section who neglects or refuses to do so commits a civil violation for which a forfeiture of not less than $3 nor more than $50 to be paid to the county may be adjudged.[1987, c. 737, Pt.
