2005 Maine Code - §1611 — Definitions


    As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwise indicates, the following terms have the following meanings. [2001, c. 439, Pt. CCCC, §4 (new).]

      1. Chief. "Chief" means the Chief of the State Police.[2001, c. 439, Pt. CCCC, §4 (new).]
      2. Director. "Director" means the Director of Maine Emergency Medical Services as defined in Title 32, section 83, subsection 10-A.[2001, c. 439, Pt. CCCC, §4 (new).]
      3. Emergency medical services person. "Emergency medical services person" has the same meaning as in Title 20-A, section 12552, subsection 1-C.[2001, c. 439, Pt. CCCC, §4 (new).]
      4. Firefighter. "Firefighter" means an active municipal firefighter or an active volunteer firefighter, as defined in Title 30-A, section 3151.[2001, c. 439, Pt. CCCC, §4 (new).]
      5. Law enforcement officer or officer. "Law enforcement officer" or "officer" means an active state police officer, municipal police officer, county sheriff, deputy sheriff, game warden, an employee of the Office of the State Fire Marshal who has law enforcement powers pursuant to section 2396, subsection 7, fire marshal, state judicial marshal or state judicial deputy marshal, liquor enforcement officer or marine patrol officer in this State.[2005, c. 519, Pt.
