§220.2.  Louisiana Recovery Authority; legislative findings

NOTE:  Repealed by Acts 2006, 1st Ex. Sess., No. 5, §4, eff. June 30, 2016; Acts 2008, No. 831, §5, changed the repeal date to July 1, 2010.

A.(1)  The legislature finds that the circumstances surrounding and the magnitude of the disasters of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and the impact on the state as a whole and on local communities requires the coordination, cooperation, and services of a myriad of state departments, offices, and agencies, as well as other entities.

(2)  The legislature further finds that there is a need for coordination of programs and funding from federal, state, local, and private sources to achieve the most effective and efficient use of monetary, human, and organizational resources toward services related to recovery from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.

(3)  The legislature recognizes a need to identify all potential resources for such services and to develop strategies to assure the coordinated use of such resources toward the recovery.

B.  To assist in carrying out these purposes, the legislature hereby establishes the Louisiana Recovery Authority.

C.  The legislature further finds that the provisions of this Part are integral to the welfare of the state and its residents.
