§2011.  Regulation of agents

The commissioner may, after notice and hearing, promulgate such reasonable rules and regulations as are necessary to provide for the licensing of agents.  An agent means a person licensed as a life and health insurance agent in the state of Louisiana who is appointed or employed by a health maintenance organization to engage in solicitation of membership in such organization.  It shall not include a person enrolling members on behalf of an employer, union, or other organization to whom a master group contract has been issued.
