§3366.  Credit for military service

Time served as a member of the active armed forces of the United States up to but not in excess of three years by any member of the New Orleans Firefighters Pension Fund employed on or prior to December 31, 1967, who has been an officer, member or employee of the New Orleans Fire Department for at least twenty-five years, whether before or after becoming an officer, member or employee of said fire department or both, shall constitute service in the New Orleans Fire Department as used in this Part.  Time served as a member of the active armed forces of the United States up to but not in excess of three years by any member of the New Orleans Firefighters Pension Fund employed on or after January 1, 1968, or who was employed prior thereto but has elected to come under the new firefighters pension system, who has been an officer, member or employee of the New Orleans Fire Department for at least twenty-five years and is at least fifty years of age, whether before or after becoming an officer, member or employee of said fire department or both, shall constitute service in the fire department as used in this Part.
