§85.11.  Naming of gymnasium by certain school boards

Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, a parish school board in a parish having a population between twenty-five thousand and thirty-five thousand persons according to the most recent federal decennial census may name a gymnasium in the parish in honor of a former principal who meets all of the following criteria:

(1)  He served as principal at the school where the gymnasium is located for at least twenty years.

(2)  He served as a coach at the school where the gymnasium is located.

(3)  He served as a member of the school board in the parish where the gymnasium is located for at least one term.

(4)  He has served on the school board in another parish in the state.
