§3397.3.  Corporation defined; status

A.  As used in this Subpart, "corporation" means a nonprofit corporation organized under and pursuant to the Nonprofit Corporation Law, as provided in Chapter 2 of Title 12 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950.

B.  In the exercise of the powers, functions, and activities authorized by this Subpart, a corporation shall not constitute an instrumentality of the state, a state agency, board, or commission, or a political subdivision.

C.  To promote the establishment of regional research and development parks, the legislature hereby creates the Louisiana Research and Development Council which shall consist of nine members to be appointed by the governor.  Each appointment shall be submitted to the Senate for confirmation and shall serve terms concurrent with the governor.  A vacancy in such membership of the board shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointment.
