267.570 Discontinuance of improvements. At any time a majority in number and amount of those assessed for the maintenance of <br>any improvement may petition the county judge/executive for a discontinuance of the <br>improvement. The petition shall give the names of all persons interested in the <br>maintenance of the improvement and owning land in the district. The county <br>judge/executive shall set a hearing date not less than fifteen (15) days after the filing of <br>the petition, and shall issue notices and cause them to be served upon all parties <br>interested, notifying them of the date that the county judge/executive will consider the <br>petition. If no valid reason is shown against the discontinuance of the improvement, the <br>county judge/executive shall enter an order discontinuing it, after which it shall cease to <br>be a public improvement. An appeal may be had from the order to the Circuit Court, as <br>provided in the establishment of improvements. Effective: June 17, 1978 <br>History: Amended 1978 Ky.
