161.490 Investigation of statement. To the extent to which it is used in determining the liability of any fund of the retirement <br>system, the board of trustees shall ascertain the correctness of the statement filed under <br>KRS 161.480 by the best evidence it is able to obtain. If official records are not available <br>as to length of service, age, salary, or other information required for the administration of <br>the retirement system, the board may use its discretion as to the evidence to be accepted.
