95.710 Qualifications of members of police and fire departments.

95.710 Qualifications of members of police and fire departments. To be eligible for appointment as a member of the police force or fire department of a city <br>of the fourth or fifth class, except cities of the fourth class which have adopted KRS <br>95.761 to 95.784, a person must be able to read and write the English language <br>intelligibly, and sober, moral and sagacious. In addition, a member of a police department <br>in a city of the fourth or fifth class shall be at least twenty-one (21) years of age, and a <br>member of a fire department of a city of the fourth or fifth class shall be at least eighteen <br>(18) years of age. No person who has been convicted of a felony is eligible for <br>appointment. After appointment no member shall interfere in any election.
