77.005 Definitions for chapter.
Download pdf(1) "Legislative body" means the chief legislative body of the city, whether it is the board of aldermen, general council, board of commissioners, or otherwise; (2) "Air contaminant" or "air contaminants" includes smoke, charred paper, dust, soot, grime, carbon, noxious acids, fumes, gases, odors, or particulate matter, or any
combination thereof; (3) "District" means an air pollution control district;
(4) "Person" means any individual, firm, copartnership, joint adventure, association, corporation, social club, fraternal organization, estate, trust, receiver, syndicate, any
county, city, municipality, district (for air pollution control or otherwise), or other
political subdivision, or any group or combination acting as a unit, and the plural as
well as the singular unit; (5) "Ringelmann Chart" means that standard published by the United States Bureau of Mines to determine the density of smoke. Effective: March 14, 1952
