262.530 Landowners may petition for discontinuance of district. At any time after five (5) years from the organization of a district, twenty-five percent (25%) of the owners of land lying within the boundaries of the district may file a petition with the commission praying that the existence of the district be discontinued. The commission may conduct such public meetings and public hearings upon the petition for discontinuance as may be necessary to assist it in the consideration of it.
