247.088 Assessment of effect of agricultural practices upon groundwater resources. The College of Agriculture of the University of Kentucky, through the agricultural experiment station and the cooperative extension service shall assess the effect of agricultural practices upon groundwater resources, establish basic and applied research programs to determine agricultural management practices which may be necessary to protect groundwater resources, and establish and implement an educational program to encourage the use of agricultural practices which conserve, maintain, and improve soil productivity and to assure protection of groundwater. The college shall seek the cooperation of the Division of Conservation within the Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet, the Kentucky Farm Bureau, and other organizations in implementing the educational program. Acts chs. 11, 85, 95, 97, 98, 99, 123, and 181 instruct the Reviser of Statutes to correct statutory references to agencies and officers whose names have been changed in 2005 legislation confirming the reorganization of the executive branch. Such a correction has been made in this section.
