224.50-876 Contracts with persons relating to various aspects of disposal -- Memorandum of agreement -- Agreements with local governments. (1) The cabinet may enter into an agreement with a person to collect, transport, process, recycle, make tire-derived fuel, dispose of waste tires, or develop markets for waste tires. A person awarded a contract shall comply with the requirements of the waste tire program. (2) The cabinet may enter into a memorandum of agreement with a federal, state, or local agency to aid in implementing the waste tire program. The cabinet may reimburse the federal, state, or local agency for their expenses incurred to aid the implementation of the waste tire program if money is available in the waste tire trust fund established by KRS 224.50-880. (3) The cabinet may enter into an agreement with a local government for the removal of waste tires, including waste tires collected by the local government through a local community-sponsored program. If income is derived from the disposal of the waste tires collected through the local community-sponsored program, the income may be used to reimburse the local government for the cost of sponsoring the program.
