161.716 Federal laws take precedence over Kentucky statutes pertaining to Teachers' Retirement System. In the event that federal laws are in conflict with the Kentucky Revised Statutes pertaining to the Teachers' Retirement System, federal laws shall take precedence. When necessary to comply with federal laws, the board of trustees may defer or stop payments of allowances until the conflict is resolved. The board of trustees shall adopt such regulations as are necessary to remove any conflicts with federal laws and to protect the interests of the members, survivors of members and the system.
