CHAPTER 307 - DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (DOT)
307.23 - GENERAL COUNSEL.

        307.23  GENERAL COUNSEL.
         The general counsel shall be a special assistant attorney general
      appointed by the attorney general who shall act as the attorney for
      the department and the general counsel shall have the following
      duties and responsibilities:
         Act as legal advisor to the commission and the director, and
      provide all legal services for the department.
         The attorney general shall appoint additional assistant attorneys
      general as the director deems necessary to carry out the duties
      assigned to the office of the general counsel.  The salary of the
      general counsel shall be fixed by the director, subject to the
      approval of the attorney general.  The director shall provide and
      furnish a suitable office for the general counsel upon request of the
      attorney general.
