CHAPTER 306C - JUNKYARD BEAUTIFICATION AND BILLBOARD CONTROL
306C.2 - JUNKYARDS PROHIBITED -- EXCEPTIONS.

        306C.2  JUNKYARDS PROHIBITED -- EXCEPTIONS.
         A person shall not establish, operate, or maintain a junkyard, any
      portion of which is within one thousand feet of the nearest edge of
      the right-of-way of any interstate highway, except:
         1.  Those which are screened by natural objects, plantings,
      fences, or other appropriate means obscuring them from view from the
      main-traveled portion of the highway.
         2.  Those located within areas which are zoned for industrial use
      under authority of law.
         3.  Those located within unzoned industrial areas which areas
      shall be determined from actual land uses and defined by regulations
      to be promulgated by the department under the provisions of chapter
      17A in accordance with the standards, criteria, and rules and
      regulations promulgated under authority of Title 23, United States
      Code.
         4.  Those which are not visible from the main-traveled portion of
      the highway.
