Costs of proceeding and attorney's fees
31-16-11-1 Sec. 1. (a) The court periodically may order a party to
pay a reasonable amount for:
(1) the cost to the other party of maintaining or defending any
proceeding under this chapter, IC 31-16-2 through IC 31-16-10,
or IC 31-16-12;
(2) attorney's fees; and
(3) mediation services;
including amounts for legal services provided and costs incurred
before the commencement of the proceedings or after entry of
judgment.
(b) The court may order the amount to be paid directly to the
attorney, who may enforce the order in the attorney's name.

Exemption for Title IV-D agencies
31-16-11-2 Sec. 2. Neither costs or attorney's fees may be taxed
against an agency, or the agency's agents, that is authorized to
maintain proceedings under this chapter, IC 31-16-2 through
IC 31-16-10, or IC 31-16-12 by Title IV-D of the federal Social
Security Act (42 U.S.C. 651 through 669) and IC 31-25-4-17.
