CHAPTER 720 CRIMINAL OFFENSES
720 ILCS 315/ Horse Mutilation Act.

    Sec. 0.01. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Horse Mutilation Act.

    (720 ILCS 315/1) (from Ch. 8, par. 109)
    Sec. 1.
    Whoever cuts the solid part of the tail of any horse in the operation known as docking, or by any other operation performed for the purpose of shortening the tail, and whoever shall cause the same to be done, or assist in doing such cutting, unless the same is proved to be a benefit to the horse, shall be guilty of a Class A misdemeanor.
