                      WORKER'S COMPENSATION AND RELATED
                        LAWS -- INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION
                                  CHAPTER 2
                        SCOPE -- COVERAGE -- LIABILITY
    72-230.  PUBLIC ASSISTANCE -- COVERAGE. (1) Any employer who enters into a
written agreement with the Idaho department of health and welfare to provide
unpaid work experience, training, or both, to any person receiving public
assistance benefits, shall be the "on-site employer" and shall be granted all
the protections and immunities granted to any employer under the Idaho
worker's compensation law.
    (2)  Any person receiving public assistance benefits pursuant to chapter
2, title 56, Idaho Code, who participates in unpaid work experience, training,
or both, shall be deemed to be an employee of the "on-site employer" defined
in subsection (1) of this section and shall be entitled to all benefits under
the Idaho worker's compensation law.
    (3)  Any worker's compensation premiums and losses associated with unpaid
work experience or training pursuant to this section shall be assessed against
the Idaho department of health and welfare. All protections and immunities
granted to any employer under the Idaho worker's compensation law shall be
extended simultaneously to the "on-site employer" defined in subsection (1) of
this section and the department of health and welfare.
