Title 21a Consumer Protection
Chapter 416 Department Of Consumer Protection
Sec. 21a-1. (Formerly Sec. 19-170a). Department and Commissioner of Consumer Protection.

      Sec. 21a-1. (Formerly Sec. 19-170a). Department and Commissioner of Consumer Protection. There shall be a Department of Consumer Protection which shall be under the direction and supervision of a Commissioner of Consumer Protection, who shall be appointed by the Governor in accordance with the provisions of sections 4-5 to 4-8, inclusive.

      History: Sec. 19-170a transferred to Sec. 21a-1 in 1983; June 30 Sp. Sess. P.A. 03-6 and P.A. 04-169 replaced Commissioner and Department of Consumer Protection with Commissioner and Department of Agriculture and Consumer Protection, effective July 1, 2004; P.A. 04-189 repealed Sec. 146 of June 30 Sp. Sess. P.A. 03-6, thereby reversing the merger of the Departments of Agriculture and Consumer Protection, effective June 1, 2004.
