Sec. 16-28. Correction of returns and reports.

      Sec. 16-28. Correction of returns and reports. When a report filed by a public service company under subsection (a) of section 16-27 or an annual report filed by a community antenna television company under subsection (b) of said section seems to the Department of Public Utility Control defective or erroneous, the department may notify the company making the same and require the amendment of such report within fifteen days from the time of giving such notice, under the same penalty as is provided for refusing or neglecting to make such report; and the department may examine the officers, agents, employees, books, records, accounts, vouchers, plant and equipment of such company and may correct such items in such report as, upon such examination, the department may find ought to be corrected.

      History: P.A. 75-486 replaced public utilities commission with public utilities control authority; P.A. 77-614 replaced public utilities control authority with division of public utility control within the department of business regulation, effective January 1, 1979; P.A. 80-482 made division an independent department and deleted reference to abolished department of business regulation; P.A. 85-509 made technical changes for consistency with amendments to Sec. 16-27.
