Sec. 22-83. Research and experiment in tobacco growing. The Board of Control
of the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station is authorized to conduct research
and experimental work as to causes and prevention of the various diseases and injuries
to the Connecticut tobacco crop which occur in the field or in the processes of preparing
the crop for market and for the purpose of improving the tobacco plant by selection
and breeding and by cooperative experiments with growers of tobacco. Said board is
authorized to accept in the name of the state gifts or loans of land and equipment and
gifts of money, to be used exclusively for the purposes of this section. Said board may
issue bulletins containing any special information of value to tobacco growers.
