Sec. 19a-110a. Regional lead poisoning treatment centers. The Commissioner
of Public Health may, within available appropriations, establish two regional lead poisoning treatment centers in different areas of the state by providing grants-in-aid to two
hospitals, each with a demonstrated expertise in lead poisoning prevention as determined
by the commissioner. Each center shall serve a designated area of the state to provide
services including, but not limited to, consultation services for physicians regarding
proper treatment of lead poisoning. No grant may be provided pursuant to this section
until the task force report required under section 4 of public act 92-192* has been submitted.
*Note: Section 4 of public act 92-192 is special in nature and therefore has not been codified but remains in full force and effect according to its terms.
History: P.A. 93-381 replaced commissioner of health services with commissioner of public health and addiction services, effective July 1, 1993; P.A. 95-257 replaced Commissioner and Department of Public Health and Addiction Services with Commissioner and Department of Public Health, effective July 1, 1995.
