2005 California Fish and Game Code Sections 3240.5-3246 Article 2. Commercial Hunting Clubs

FISH AND GAME CODE
SECTION 3240.5-3246

3240.5. Every person in possession or control of property who
imposes or collects a fee for the privilege of taking birds or
mammals thereon, or who imposes or collects a fee for any type of
entry or use permit which includes the privilege of taking birds or
mammals on the property, is maintaining a commercial hunting club if
birds or mammals are taken on the property, and shall procure a
"commercial hunting club license."
This article does not apply to any hunting club or program
licensed under other provisions of this code, or to any person who
receives less than fifty dollars ($50) per entrant and receives less
than a total of five hundred dollars ($500) between July 1 and the
following June 30 for permission, entry, access, or use fees which
include the privilege of hunting on property in his or her possession
or control.
3242. A commercial hunting club license shall be issued to any
person upon the payment of a base fee of one hundred sixty-five
dollars ($165), as adjusted under Section 713.
3243.5. The commission may transfer a license to land owned or
controlled by the licensee, other than that land specified in the
original application, located in the same county as the original
land, without any additional fee, if it finds the new land is
suitable for the purposes of the license and such a transfer is not
in conflict with the public interest.
3245. Commercial hunting club licenses are valid for a term of one
year from July 1st, or, if issued after the beginning of such term,
for the remainder thereof. A license authorizes the person to whom
it is issued to maintain a hunting club in accordance with the
provisions of this code and such regulations as the commission may
prescribe.
3246. Any license issued under this article may be revoked by the
commission at one of the commission's regularly scheduled meetings,
or by a court of competent jurisdiction, upon the licensee's
conviction of a violation of this code, and no new license may be
issued to the licensee during the same license year.
