STATE OF MICHIGAN COURT OF APPEALS In the Matter of TASHIBA TRAVIS, TONI TRAVIS, TANISHA TUCKER and TYRICOE TUCKER, Minors. FAMILY INDEPENDENCE AGENCY, UNPUBLISHED February 1, 2002 Petitioner-Appellee, v No. 229968 Wayne Circuit Court Family Division LC No. 00-389717 TISHA TUCKER, Respondent-Appellant, and HARRISON GREEN, Respondent. Before: Sawyer, P.J., and O’Connell and Zahra, JJ. MEMORANDUM. Respondent-appellant appeals as of right from the trial court order assuming jurisdiction of the minor children and making them temporary wards of the trial court. We affirm. This case is being decided without oral argument pursuant to MCR 7.214(E). The trial court did not err in finding that the statutory grounds for assuming jurisdiction were established by a preponderance of the evidence. MCL 712A.2(b); See In re SR, 229 Mich App 310, 314; 581 NW2d 291 (1998). Considerable evidence was presented that respondent-appellant neglected the children and failed to protect them and that the home was an unfit place for juveniles to live. Affirmed. /s/ David H. Sawyer /s/ Peter D. O’Connell /s/ Brian K. Zahra -1-
