STATE OF MICHIGAN COURT OF APPEALS In the Matter of DORIAN C. GREEN, EMILY RENEE JONES, ALLYCIA MARIE RAMSEY, FALLICIA ANNE RAMSEY, WILLIE RAMSEY III and JOHNATHON RAMSEY, Minors. FAMILY INDEPENDENCE AGENCY, UNPUBLISHED June 30, 2000 Petitioner-Appellee, v No. 218788 Wayne Circuit Court Family Division LC No. 89-274915 DEIDRE LYNN JONES, Respondent-Appellant, and WILLIE RAMSEY, JR.., Respondent. In the Matter of DORIAN C. GREEN, EMILY RENEE JONES, ALLYCIA MARIE RAMSEY, FALLICIA ANNE RAMSEY, WILLIE RAMSEY III and JOHNATHON RAMSEY, Minors. FAMILY INDEPENDENCE AGENCY, Petitioner-Appellee, v No. 219609 Wayne Circuit Court Family Division WILLIE RAMSEY, JR, -1 LC No. 89-274915 Respondent-Appellant, and DEIDRE LYNN JONES, Respondent. Before: O’Connell, P.J., and Kelly and Whitbeck, JJ. MEMORANDUM. Respondent Deidre Lynn Jones appeals as of right, and respondent Willie Ramsey, Jr. appeals by delayed leave granted, from the circuit court order terminating their parental rights to the minor children under MCL 712A.19b(3)(b)(i), (g) and (j); MSA 27.3178(598.19b)(3)(b)(i), (g) and (j). We affirm. The court’s findings of fact, while brief, are sufficiently definite to satisfy MCR 5.974(G)(1). Further, although the statutory grounds for termination were not explicitly stated on the record, the court’s comments make clear that the court was relying on §§ 19b(3)(b)(i), (g) and (j) as the statutory grounds for termination of parental rights. Cf. In re Toler, 193 Mich App 474, 476; 484 NW2d 672 (1992). Moreover, the court did not clearly err in finding that these statutory grounds were established by clear and convincing evidence. MCR 5.974(I), In re Miller, 433 Mich 331; 445 NW2d 161 (1989). Respondents also failed to show that termination of their parental rights was clearly not in the children’s best interests. MCL 712A.19b(5); MSA 27.3178(598.19b)(5); In re Hall-Smith, 222 Mich App 470, 472-473; 564 NW2d 156 (1997). Accordingly, the court did not err in terminating respondents’ parental rights to the children. Id. Affirmed. /s/ Peter D. O’Connell /s/ Michael J. Kelly /s/ William C. Whitbeck -2
