CLAIRE WILLIAMS, et al., 16 Defendants. ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) ) No. C 10-3610 RMW (PR) ORDER GRANTING PLAINTIFF’S MOTION FOR APPOINTMENT OF COUNSEL (Docket No. 89) 17 Plaintiff, a state prisoner, filed a pro se prisoner complaint under 42 U.S.C. 18 § 1983, arguing that defendants were deliberately indifferent to his serious medical needs, in 19 violation of the Eighth Amendment. On March 30, 2012, the court granted in part, and denied 20 defendants’ motion for summary judgment. The case was then referred to Magistrate Judge 21 Nandor Vadas for mediation. On July 18, 2012, Magistrate Judge Vadas reported that the case 22 did not settle. 23 Plaintiff has moved for appointment of counsel. It appears that the case will be tried. 24 The court concludes that counsel should be appointed, and grants plaintiff’s motion. This matter 25 is referred to the Federal Pro Bono Project to find counsel. 26 The clerk shall forward to the Federal Pro Bono Project: (i) a copy of this order, (ii) a 27 copy of the docket sheet, and (iii) a copy of the operative complaint and relevant court orders. 28 Order Granting Plaintiff’s Motion for Appointment of Counsel G:\PRO-SE\SJ.Rmw\CR.10\Medina610refprobono.wpd 1 Upon an attorney being located to represent plaintiff, that attorney shall be appointed as counsel 2 for plaintiff in this matter until further order of the court.
