The compliance hearing on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 9:01 a.m. is intended to confirm that counsel have timely met Federal Courthouse, 1301 Clay Street, Oakland, California, in Courtroom 5. Five (5) business days 11 prior to the date of the compliance hearing, the parties shall file a one-page JOINT STATEMENT 12 Northern District of California and conferred as required by the Pretrial Instructions. The compliance hearing shall be held in the 10 United States District Court 9 confirming they have complied with this requirement or explaining their failure to comply. If 13 compliance is complete, the parties need not appear and the compliance hearing will be taken off 14 calendar. Telephonic appearances will be allowed if the parties have submitted a joint statement in a 15 timely fashion. Failure to do so may result in sanctions. 16 Parties are advised that while the Court set a trial date in this action, the trial date may be 17 advanced if the calendar opens. Said trial date will not be sooner than eight (8) weeks after the close 18 of discovery. 19 The parties must comply with both the Court’s Standing Order in Civil Cases and Standing 20 Order for Pretrial Instructions in Civil Cases for additional deadlines and procedures.
