OF CALIFORNIA, et al., 23 Defendants. RELATED CASE ORDER 24 __________________________________/ 25 26 ///// 2 1 Examination of the above-captioned actions reveals that they are related within 2 the meaning of Local Rule 123(a). Each one stems from an alleged information security incident 3 involving defendants Health Net of California, Health Net and International Business Machines 4 Corporation and raises the same claims for violations of Confidentiality in Medical Information 5 Act, Civil Code Section 56, et seq.; many also raise claims under the Unfair Competition Law, 6 Business & Professions Code ยง17200, et seq. Accordingly, the assignment of these matters to 7 the same judge is likely to effect a substantial savings of judicial effort and is likely to be 8 convenient for the parties. 9 The parties should be aware that relating cases under Rule 123 causes the actions 10 to be assigned to the same judge; it does not consolidate the actions. Under Rule 123, related 11 cases are generally assigned to the judge and magistrate judge to whom the first filed action was 12 assigned. 13 As a result, it is hereby ORDERED that: 14 1. Avila v.
