Every prisoner confined in the Alabama prison system who donates one or more units of his blood to the American Red Cross shall be entitled to a deduction of 30 days from the term of his sentence, in addition to all other deductions allowed for good conduct or industrial production; provided, that the prisoner shall be allowed such a deduction only once every 12 months. Such extra allowances may be forfeited for misconduct in the same manner as deductions awarded for good conduct are forfeited and may be subsequently restored by the Commissioner of Corrections under rules and regulations prescribed by the Board of Corrections. This section is cumulative and supplemental.
